The shore was silent, and the birds were nowhere to be seen…Raider bunkers on the shoreline loomed, and the beaches were covered in traps. You could hear a pin drop. Then the guns from the 1st Renegade Islands Alliance Special Forces Flotilla opened up, providing covering fire for the landing craft carrying the eager liberators approaching from out at sea.Over the past weeks, RIASF Sailors have been hard at work. A solid liberation of Neko Sanctuary was undertook on August 25th, which had been liberated a few days before, and then unfortunately lost the update before through unforeseeable circumstances, by The Grey Wardens. After sneaking in undetected by the raiders and liberating the region, RIASF Sailors piled into the region, building the influence to oust the few remaining raiders. Due to the constant onslaught that raiders have put the region through, it was decided that a refounding of the region was desirable to protect it from further harm. After just over a week of careful piling, the region was successfully refounded, concluding a lengthy operation spearheaded by the RIASF. A special mention and thanks to Sailor Scepez, for dutifully checking up on his nation in the region after every update, as he was the primary means of keeping the region safe for much of the defensive operations there. On the 5th of September, RIASF Sailors gathered together with troops from fellow defender organisations, throwing their aid in the undertaking to liberate Kingdom of Canada from The Kingdom of Great Britain and other affiliated raider organisations. With a solid effort, the gathered forces successfully liberated the region. Now only a pile for cleanup remains. Excellent work, Sailors. These are just two of the operations that the RIASF has participated in the past month. If you want to enlist and add your name to the roster, then head to our forums and follow the instructions here

A contingent of RIASF warships sailed along the coast in the early morning, adding support to a coalition of Grey Wardens, Founderless Regions Alliance, and several other notable defender organisations. With cannons loaded and the batteries aligned, they sailed to the defense of regions against a massive convergence of raiders…Today, at minor update of September 10th, the RIASF gathered together with numerous defender organisations, with their eyes peeled for activity. Early into update, a massive number of raiders were detected and the orders went out to gather up. With barely 10 gathered defenders, the RIASF having contributed 4, a tense watch for the move was made. It was only moments out when the commanders of the small group of defenders realized there was only 1 possible target to need so many raiders. An immediate order to move was made, supporting European Union, original home region of Benevolent Thomas. Incredibly, the call was correct, with raiders put off from jumping due to the accuracy. As defenders sighed in relief, they realised that the raiders weren't dispersing. As such, those who were present quickly changed focus and started watching. As the minutes dragged by, tension grew. Potential targets were frantically checked. After the update of one of two possible targets singled out, a careful eye was kept on the last possible target. As the region's update arrived, the call was made and the gathered defenders moved, just as raiders started to move themselves, to defend Equestria. With the region updating only seconds after many people moved in, the dust settled and defenders proved victorious. This past update resulted in a coalition of nearly 40 raiders attempting to raid. And it resulted in the few defenders online pulling off two incredible defenses. The RIASF itself was present as a leading part of the defense force.

This is why the RIA has always fought as a defender region. Can you imagine what would happen if the RIA went founderless? We have so many people who are totally unaware of the raiding/defending part of NS, yet they've still found their own way to find a lot of joy in the game. People will gather up 40 nations with the intent of toppling a legitimately elected government and taking control of a thriving community because it's fun, because they didn't have anything better to do, or simply because it was there.
The targets very rarely are selected for any actions of their own. Raiders don't attack regions who've wronged them, they do it because moving into a region and taking control, kicking out the natives, and refounding a region to keep as a trophy is fun to them. What they do amounts to little more than sanctioned trolling.
This, this right here, this is why we fight. This is why defending has always held the most respect for me as a way to be involved in the region. This is why you see me willing to bend over backwards for our sailors, because I've seen them all bending over backwards for people they don't even know.
The Renegade Islands Alliance and her esteemed Special Forces will never back away from our mission to protect those who cannot protect themselves, or worse - don't even know that there's a threat that they need to protect against.

On stormy seas, the sturdy and newly expanded Renegade Islands Alliance Special Forces 1st Flotilla prowled, with allies gathered on their railings. As the raid drizzled down, the cannons opened up on a raider stronghold in the distance, and the allies present witnessed the awesome might that was the assembled Renegades. At Major Update today, October 2nd, the Renegade Islands Alliance Special Forces participated in a liberation against The Kingdom of Great Britain and her allies of USSD, Albion, HYDRA Command. Alongside them were members of The Grey Wardens, TITO, and a lone member of the SPSF. Into battle strode 18 defenders, of whom, an absolutely mind shattering 7 were from the Renegade Islands Alliance Special Forces! Another 2 sailors were on standby to join as well, if needed. With heads held high, the RIASF and her allies freed South Pacific from their aggressors, setting the rightful natives back in power. But that wasn't all. The RIASF wasn't finished yet! Later this same update, another liberation came up. The RIASF sailors leapt at the chance to do more good. A quote pulled from what was said the as soon as call went back out for sailors is what sailor Scepez said: “I came back for seconds. Who's up?” Scrambling 3 sailors from their bunks, the region of The Han Dynasty China was liberated as well, bringing the RIASF to two incredibly well performed missions in a single update, when the plan had originally been to have just one mission.
